The “Social Good Summit” is one of the top-level forums co-sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Foundation and other well-known institutions. The Summit is held annually in September during the UN General Assembly, aiming to promote the UN Millennium Development Goals and to encourage our society to contribute to the public welfare development through dialogues and innovations. 2017 Summit attracted opinions leaders from all walks of life to discuss how to utilize the power and technology to tackle currently the most challenging global puzzle, how to inspire innovations, how to raise public awareness, and how to create a better world to push forward the achievement of UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

At the Summit, Mr. Li Jiewei, the General Manager of Panda Green Energy Overseas Business Department, shared the company actions and goals with hundreds of guests. While Panda Green Energy is expanding to overseas markets, “Panda Power Plants” will be vital carriers to provide comprehensive clean energy solutions to the world. In the future, “Panda Power Plant” will be creatively customized in shapes of “panda and koala”, "panda and elephant" etc, and will be launched in more corners of the world. Ms. Ada Li, the American high school student initially proposed the idea of “Panda Power Plant”, also attended the Summit as the youth representative. She called on the global community to pay more attention on cultivating teenagers to have innovative capabilities to address climate changes, and to provide more platforms for the Millennials to express their ideas. As the first camp leader of the “Youth Leadership Summer Camp for Climate Action”, Ada further shared teenagers’ passion and responsibilities in responding to climate change action.

Panda Green Energy has been always emphasizing and encouraging young people to participate in environmental protection and to take actions on climate change. In 2016, Panda Green Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the UNDP, launched the program of “Panda Power Plant Sponsorship on the Youth Engagement and Innovation to the Sustainable Development”, and involved more teenagers to take actions. In August 2017, the “Youth Leadership Summer Camp for Climate Action” was co-organized by the Panda Green Energy and the UNDP in Datong, Shanxi Province, China. Around 50 worldwide millennials went to the Datong Panda Power Plant and the summer camp base, and spend a 9-days’ journey there. The summer camp program greatly raised the young people’s awareness on environmental protection and enhanced their innovative capacities.

We will continue taking the social responsibility to call on more teenagers to participate in the sustainable development. Therefore every corner of the world can expect our Panda's smile.”

At the Summit, Panda Green Energy was invited to attend the “Climate Action in South-South Cooperation Conference” hosted by Morocco Government, the COP22 host country, the UN Office for South-South Cooperation, and the UNFCCC Secretariat. They together discussed how the clean energy solutions would be used to deal with global climate change in South-South Cooperation.

In the future, Panda Green Energy will continue building more “Panda Power Plants” along the “Belt and Road” routes, tightening collaborative relationship with more developing countries, and promoting clean energy and green development concept to the world on the basis of “Panda Power Plants”. Panda Green Energy will take an active role in dealing with global climate change, giving new momentum to South-South Cooperation and “Belt and Road” Initiative, so as to help on the expedited realization of the UN sustainable development goals.
